Nuguide & Industry

Education is about acquiring knowledge that can help to solve problems afflicting humanity as well as foster human and community development. It is important for both university and industry to engage in problem-solving research work. Nuguide establishes a link between university and industry to promote research engagement between both sectors by funding research projects.

Transforming the educational sector through research collaboration

As a visionary company working to foster a wide range of academic research, businesses and humanitarian endeavours, Nuguide encourages co-operation between university and industry. With a strong academic and corporate research engagement, Nigeria and the wider world can be transformed positively. Inter-university collaboration at both national and international levels is a key element in this process. At Nuguide, we work to accelerate human capital development and research in several areas including:

  • Academic research
  • Corporate research
  • Early-stage start-ups research

The education method of the 21st century is technology-dependent. This has come to tighten the relationship between university and industry. Building transformational technologies to foster national growth is at the fore in our effort to establish close links between university and industry.

Spin-off

Through investment in research, science and innovation, university and industry can engage in practical projects that heighten entrepreneurial spirits for spin-off companies. Nuguide takes a bold step in initiating collaborative research projects that can lead to spin-out companies for employment generation and solution to societal problems. While promoting partnership between the academic sector and industry Nuguide is currently engaging both sectors through research projects that we have initiated to find solutions to some problems presently facing the country.

Employment

One of the greatest challenges of our time is assisting our graduates to become gainfully employed after university studies. This also involves universities producing graduates that are indeed fit for purpose. One easy way to achieve this is to ensure that university and industry work hand in hand so that both areas understand what skills or transferable practical skills graduates of the 21st century are expected to possess. As we are passionate about the ‘idea of local content’, skills acquisition and graduate empowerment, Nuguide encourages the development of university courses by academics and employers of labour to include appropriate skills for students and graduates to prepare them for employment. All stakeholders in the educational sector can key into this and ensure that the process is sustained.

Sustainable projects

Research showed that short and long term employment opportunities for graduates can come out from projects by University and industry. Nuguide encourages all stakeholders to clearly articulate and participate in measures that engage in and sustain such projects for the benefits of the society.
